Achim Reichert Paris. Curious about the word. About the form of the letter, the curve and the line. And why does it function ? And what about the context ? Why is it readable here ? And what is the interaction between content and form ? Images are great. They show to you surroundings where you want to live, too. They show you people you want to meet. And then there is that combination of text and image: two things that do not fit together in the first place. A flat two-dimensional fog of representation put together with a irregular collection of lines and circles with a strange rhythm. Doing visual communication I have to cope with that absurdity that these two elements are incompatible. And nonetheless developing stuff that people want to relate to. And their reaction to my work is that what interests me. My professional path is : Studying Visual Communication in Offenbach, germany. In 1999 I did cofound with Marco Fiedler the office of Vier5, starting to work in different disciplines. Several projects were developed like orientation systems for documenta 12 and documenta 14. Or influential poster designs for the CAC Brétigny. Since 2020 and my abandon of Vier5 I am enriching my practice in work that needs less context to be valid. And trying to integrate these experiences in the contextualized projects. Since 2023 teaching and researching as associated professor in the arts & philosophy department of Paris 8 university. Examples: -orientation system for the documenta 12 in 2007 -visual identity for the busan biennale south corea 2012 -visual identity for the documenta 14 in 2017 in Athens -visual identity CAC Brétigny from 2004 to 2012 -visual identity for Miriam Cahn at Palazzo Castelmur in 2021 -visual identity for les gens d’Uterpan at MABA, 2022 -identity and signage for artist Laëtitia Badaut Haussmann at Pav.Lov, 2023 -exhibition design for Kadist San Francisco in 2024 -Tokyo Type Directors Club Prize for the Miriam Cahn publication and Matthieu Saladin’s Oracle in 2024 -exhibition concept and design for Ludwig Maximillian University Munich in 2025 News: I recently got accepted as member of AGI Alliance Graphique Internationale.
